Dimitris Mytas - Dreamtigers
With a series of color photographs, Dimitris Mytas is back, and with the Dreamtigers promises "that he will try to reposition the retold".
The curator of the exhibition Nina Kassianou says: "Once again Dimitris chooses to compose a dialog between faces and spaces that are part of his everyday life. From the Hospital that preceded and expressed with images of black-and-white silent, hermetically closed and often melancholic, we move this time to compositions that touch a color palette "seemingly" more light, combined with playful mood, illuminated by a curious atmosphere full of narcissistic colors. "Seemingly" though; because here too Mytas is not in a state of calm and relaxation. With his "unconnected" images, images without joints, Dimitris Mytas creates a world of fluent and deceptively random, unexpectedly changing, a world of dream and at the same time worrying. There is, however, an invisible thread that connects these images which through the discontinuity of his imaginary wandering, between sober faces who look "unabashedly" at the lens and in empty places that accompany them, composes and strengthens a strictly, in medical terms I would say, coherent stylistic and conceptual body of work, which, while it is an association continuation of his previous works, nevertheless includes new stylistic elements that show us that the The graph moves to new morphological searches.
Whatever space scene he chooses, whatever faces he decides to place in his frame, whatever type of director he uses, he never ceases to self-biographed. Following step by step his photographic experience, which has built over the years, he has been born with patience and perseverance in his relationship with both his social-family surroundings and the environment he has been called to live in. And as all this changes, Dimitris weaves and presents us his new photographic worlds."
