PORTFOLIO CONTEST — PARALLEL VOICES 2027

1. About the Open Call

Photometria International Photography Festival invites photographers to participate in Parallel Voices 2027, a group exhibition presented as part of the 19th edition of the Photometria International Photography Festival. The open call aims to showcase diverse photographic approaches, personal narratives and contemporary perspectives through a collective exhibition.

2. Important Dates

- Submission opens: 1 November 2026
- Submission deadline: 15 December 2026
- Results announced by: 15  February 2027
- Exhibition: As part of the Photometria International Photography Festival 2027

3. Eligibility

The open call is open to photographers of any nationality, age or professional background. Each participant may submit one (1) photographic portfolio.
Participants must be the creators of the submitted photographs and must hold the necessary rights to submit them to the contest.

4. Portfolio Requirements

Each portfolio must contain 15 photographs forming a coherent photographic project or visual narrative.
Images must be submitted as JPG files, with the longest side measuring 1500 pixels and a resolution of 300 ppi.
Files must be named as follows: FirstName-LastName-01.jpg, FirstName-LastName-02.jpg,... and so on, up to the final image.

5. Submission

Entries must be submitted via https://www.swisstransfer.com/en, https://fromsmash.com/ or https://wetransfer.com/ στη διεύθυνση info@photometria.gr by 15 December 2026.

Each submission must include:

A. Photographs
15 image files meeting the technical requirements above.

B. One PDF file containing
- A portrait of the photographer.
- Project title.
- Full name.
- Nationality.
- Residential address and city.
- Email address.
- Telephone number.
- Short biography of up to 150 words.
- Short project description of up to 150 words.
- Artist statement of up to 300 words, if available.
- Instagram account, if available.
Submissions must be complete and received before the deadline.
The Organizer reserves the right not to consider incomplete or late submissions.

6. Entry Fee

The entry fee is €20 per portfolio.
Payment must be made according to the instructions provided by the Organizer.
The entry fee covers submission and evaluation of the portfolio and is non-refundable, except where otherwise required by applicable law.

7. Selection and Jury

The jury will select nine (9) portfolios. Eight (8) photographs will be selected from each chosen portfolio for presentation in the group exhibition Parallel Voices 2027.

The jury consists of:

- Panagiotis Papoutsis — Founder, Photometria Festival
- Panagiotis Pappas — Artistic Director, Photometria Festival

Results will be announced by 15 February 2027. 

8. Exhibition and Production

Photometria will cover the production costs of the exhibition, including printing the selected photographs on canvas and installing them at the outdoor exhibition venue.
The exhibition will run for approximately two (2) months. Due to the nature of the outdoor installation and the materials used, the prints are intended exclusively for this exhibition and will be destroyed after the exhibition ends. They will not be shipped to or returned to the photographers.
The destruction of the physical prints does not affect the photographers’ copyright in their works.

9. Fees and Accommodation

No cash prize or artist fee will be provided to selected photographers. Selected photographers may be able to benefit from discounted accommodation rates at properties recommended by the Organizer, subject to availability. Accommodation costs are not covered by Photometria and remain the responsibility of the participants.

10. Copyright and Use of Images

Copyright in the photographs remains with their respective creators. By submitting an entry, the photographer confirms that they are the creator of the submitted works or hold the necessary rights to submit them. The photographer remains responsible for any third-party claims relating to the submitted works.
For selected works, the photographer grants Photometria a non-exclusive licence to use the images solely for producing and presenting the Parallel Voices 2027 exhibition and promoting this specific open call and exhibition through the Organizer’s official channels, including its website, social media and related promotional materials.
Any other use, including future re-exhibition or commercial use beyond the purposes stated above, requires prior agreement with the photographer. Where practicable, photographs will be credited to their creators.

Personal data submitted as part of the open call, including contact details, biography, portrait and information about the project, will be used to administer and evaluate entries, communicate with participants, announce results, and organize and promote the exhibition.
Access to personal data will be limited to authorized individuals and collaborators necessary for the administration of the open call, as well as service providers used for file submission and communication, where applicable.Personal data will be retained for as long as necessary for these purposes and to meet any applicable legal obligations. The Organizer must specify a retention period or clear criteria for determining the period before publication.
Under applicable data protection law, participants may, where applicable, exercise their rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and objection, as well as any other rights provided by law. They may also lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority. Participation in the open call does not automatically subscribe participants to a newsletter. Newsletter emails will only be sent where separate, optional consent has been given. Consent may be withdrawn at any time.

12. Acceptance of Terms

By submitting a portfolio, participants confirm that they have read and accepted these terms and conditions.
