George Vogiatzakis-Perpetual Motif

The series entitled “Perpetual Motif” includes photos of the last eight years from my own fantastic city, which is perceived through a puzzle of fragmentary images from various cities that I have visited and photographed.

Posters, statues, stairs going up or down, shop windows, trivial subjects come and go in this series with a motif bringing me memories, triggering my associations, activating my imagination so that my obsessions, worries and fantasies can be revealed. Composing, thus, with raw material elements of reality and the use of various motifs, a “city” that shows the world as I perceive it and that invites the viewer to explore in turn his own “city”.
